I am a resident (and I can't DJ)

That's it, I am officially a resident of the sunny town of Barcelona. A bit of paperwork and a bit of queuing did the job. Surprisingly the queuing didn't involve any pushing or queue jumpers. Maybe they're all still on holidays.
Today is my last day off before I start my new job. Of course I'd love to spend another 6 months recovering from the flat-hunt (ok, it only lasted a week, so what?). There isn't much progress on the mortgage front simply because things are supposed to be moving slowly. I just know that I really want to move in asap and start living normally again with Teresa. Re-open all those boxes that have been sitting in a cellar for the past 9 months. It'll be like xmas in October for us! I don't even remember what we did ship to Barcelona. At the end of the day the whole process will have been 11-month long but it included finding a job, moving from London and buying a flat here in Barcelona. Still too long for me.
Barcelona now is nearly back to normal and it feels somehow natural for me to start my normal life of waking up in the mornings and go to work. I'm curious to see how much time I'll actually spend in Barcelona... I'll (of course) let you know.
With Teresa we've met a couple of friends from uni who are now living in Barcelona (actually they've been here for 3 years already, bought a flat and got married. Sounds familiar? ;o) . When you see somebody after 5 years you really don't know what to expect. We all change and in 5 years you can become a completely different person than what you were... Well, it was a very pleasant surprise to see that even though we've all changed, there's still some kind of connection. I was supposed not to mention something they said during dinner, but I just can't remember what it was. Something about somebody breaking up with someone. Just can't remember, the wine must have been good (it did work for me).
Ok guys, I'll probably have much more to say tomorrow about my first day at work, but for now it's time for me to go get some food and probably a nap. Teresa is not coming back until 5 today and I can see from here the 3-hour super power nap coming...
